Hi I am Peter and this is Maria, We hail from Holland, Before we reached the port of Kochi, We have been sailing for three weeks non stop, We love to sail and enjoy the nature especially the fish and the sea mammals around us, Each time is a new experience hence we decided to sail around the world, There is always a fear of sailing in the Somalian waters, a fear of being robbed, We sailed around the coast for about 5 NM and on reaching the shores of Kochi we got this amazing smell of herbs and spices which was so nice. On entering the port we witnessed lots of fireworks and music which was like a welcome for us and we said to eachother 'wow' now that's India !! Its so nice to be welcomed here, the people are so friendly, they always wave at us and say a big hello on seeing us which is really nice. We were very excited to see the Dutch history here in Kochi, Sailing around the world simple means that you got to ensure that your boat is in shape hence maintenance is always there and that is what keeps us on our toes. A Marina is really helpful to help us maintain our boats, Sailing is really an adventure I would like to see sailing being taught to young kids at an early age here in India.
