Bore with normal traveling? You’re traveling into forests where are called wild nature for more experiences in life. Also travel blogging is an exciting, rewarding career option. It can be a slow process to establish yourself in the field, but with persistence and continuing to hone your craft it can be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make! One way to begin this trek is writing for a travel competition hosted by a travel website.

An important component to keep in the forefront when doing travel writing is to keep your target audience in mind. Are you writing for a family website? Then include items on casual dining, theme parks, etc. If you are writing for a student-oriented site, then your focus should be more toward pubs and local drinking ages, nightlife, youth hostels, etc. The possibilities of a target audience are as endless as the variety of people you will meet in your travels.

Many articles target college students taking the train and/or backpacking through Europe. Including information on how to best obtain cheap train tickets in various cities would be vital to the students reading your piece. Highlights from some key locations would also be valuable. For instance, the city of Prague is a beautiful and relatively inexpensive location where college students can enjoy many different pubs and try the local brews while not destroying their travel’s budget in the process.

Professionals living abroad is an increasingly popular lifestyle. Writing on the night markets of Thailand, for example, would be a great article for this audience. The vibrantly colored textiles and the scent of Thai spices would serve wonderfully for getting your own creative juices flowing! The Silk Road in Central Asia with its ancient cities, mosques, markets, etc. is an endless source in inspiration. Families would find this part of the world a fascinating, under-discovered treasure and you would find no end to article material!

The South of US is home for the most enjoyable fun filled vacation locations in the United States. The South offers unique vacations rich in culture, history, cuisine, hospitality and music and is home to lots of the country’s most famous tourist attractions. The South has something for everyone from musical festivals and theme parks, to NASCAR racing, historic villages, outlet shopping and exhilarating nightlife. The South is the perfect mix of new and old.

The South flourishes with natural beauty, and offers many opportunities for outdoor activities. The Appalachian Mountains begin in Alabama and stretch all the way to Virginia. Camping, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, rafting, and caving are popular activities. Numerous recreation areas are open to the public, including one of the most visited national parks in the country, Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Easily prepare for a perfect vacation with travel guides. Most travel guides contain the latest information on vacation rentals, restaurants and attractions, including travel tips, and more.

Several southern cities still retain much of their traditional southern charm. Among these notable cities are Beaufort, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia and New Orleans in Louisiana. The South is filled with historical locations that include Civil Rights landmarks to colonial settlements, and Civil War battlefields. A particularly interesting city is Jamestown located in the southern state of Virginia. There you can explore the very first thriving British settlement. Close by, in Colonial Williamsburg, experience a scenic recreation of what life was like in a colonial town.

North Carolina and Virginia have the Blue Ridge Parkway, offering some of the most stunning vistas around. A great attraction in this region is the Biltmore Mansion, in addition to the mountain towns of Boone and Ashville. Other astonishing recreation places in the South consist of Mammoth Cave situated in Kentucky, and Hot Springs in Arkansas. During winter months the ski resorts in Virginia and North Carolina attract big crowds. Even though the help of snowmaking devices is used and the paths are not very high or steep as some, they are still worth visiting for fun.

The coastal areas in the South are among the most picturesque in the country. Swimming, parasailing, fishing and sunbathing are popular things to do in this region of the South. Popular seaside places for vacation rentals include Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and the Gulf Shores in Alabama. The South is well-known for its regional cuisine. Succulent barbeque, grits, gulf oysters, and fried tomatoes are regional delicacies.

Some significant contributions to popular music originated in the South and are expressed in the lively music scenes in major cities. Rock and roll, jazz and the blues all originated in the South. Music lovers can visit Music Row located in the city of Nashville or Beale Street located in the city of Memphis to understand the South’s ongoing musical history. Sports fans will find many things to do across the South. One of the South’s most popular sports is college football. Racing is extremely popular, as well. A major event is the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, which attracts spectators from all around the world.

Explore travel guides for the latest vacation ideas, vacation rentals, travel reviews and news. Travel guides contain a wealth of information covering everything from the best vacation rentals to the best attractions.

An outdoor wedding in a garden is a wonderful location choice for your big day. With a little hard work and some help from Mother Nature, your wedding can be as beautiful as the one in your dreams. Here are a few tips to make it even more so and help you on you way to an unforgettable event.

One option is to have your wedding ceremony in the evening so your guests can enjoy the beauty a garden flower affords and with the reception held in the oncoming dusk, you have an opportunity to show off your favorite parts of the flower garden with lighting. Strings of white lights hung in smaller trees and shrubbery add luster to the affair and solar panel stake lights can light the way down pathways to help you navigate your guests to food or dance areas. Have ushers in attendance to help older guests to the bathroom and back to their seats.

Having your reception out of doors saves your budget on food as you grill for hungry guests. For larger weddings, have several grills set up and dedicate one to children’s favorites like hamburgers and hot dogs. Volunteers from friends or family can cook or you can hire professional grillers for your reception. This is less expensive than you would think and much less expensive than having the entire reception catered. You will afford your guests freshly cooked food, right off the grill.

Sound carries better at night and a live band will afford more quality than a D J. Make sure to have the band set up as far away from the food area as possible to avoid too much traffic in one area. A patch of grassy lawn makes the perfect dance floor or you can have one made from wood and linoleum that is fairly inexpensive. Surround you band and dance area with round tables and reserve a long rectangular table for the bride and groom and the wedding party. These tables are the perfect place to present your guests with spring wedding favors or garden wedding favors.

Most weddings have up to a year of preparation time so plan your garden accordingly. Cover less desirable areas with wildflowers; which are inexpensive and will grow in shade or sun. This will keep your guests out of trouble spots and children can be occupied by making bouquets from these as they are easily replaced.

Lakes and ponds are beautiful and inviting but do not be tempted to set up your reception too close. Large bodies of water are bug fests and mosquitoes and snakes love a good party. Protect your guests by putting some distance between you and water. Spay for bugs a day or two before the event and set up a barrier with a line of citronella candles. Certain flowers also repel mosquitoes and your region might support this so check with your local Department of Parks and Recreations for a list.

A makeshift wishing well is the perfect opportunity to get your guests to participate. As they arrive, have the ushers give each guest two shiny pennies and inform them they can make a wishing well wish. Let them know that one penny is for good wishes for the bride and groom and one is for them. You can then set up a camera and microphone so you can make a video of your well-wisher’s sentiments.

Jim Gibbs is the retired President and founder of Gibbs Landscape Company, one of Atlanta’s leading landscape companies for more than 40 years. He and his company are the recipient of more than 250 awards. Mr. Gibbs began his career after graduating from The University of Georgia in 1965 with a B.S. Degree and a major in horticulture and a minor in landscape architecture. Ceremonies to present two of his national landscape awards were held at gala White House receptions. Gibbs Gardens is the perfect setting for that special day in the life of a bride and groom. They have several sites appropriate for the ceremony and tented receptions.

Saving money while traveling does not mean you have to scrimp on your vacation. You can enjoy the sights and sounds as well as the traveler who paid full price. And unlike the traveler who paid full-price for his/her vacation, you will have the benefit of knowing that you have money left over to plan your next money saving trip!

1. Rent an automobile: sometimes the cost of renting a car can be cheaper than taking the airport shuttle. If driving on your next vacation, you can save money by renting a car that has better fuel economy than the one you own – not to mention the wear-and-tear that you save on your own vehicle

2. Book your own reservations: One of the ways I have saved money for traveling is by booking my own hotel, air, and car reservations. Visit the all-inclusive websites (Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.); when you see a price that is appealing, go to the individual airline, hotel, or car rental website to book the reservation yourself. Become a frequent traveler and you may save even more! See about booking your own entertainment venues online as well – museums, theme parks, historical sights, etc.

3. Eat meals in your room: you can save money while traveling by eating breakfast or lunch in your room or at the local park or beach. Go by the local grocer and pack a great lunch and, weather permitting, have a picnic! This is not only a great way to save money while traveling but can be an opportunity to get outdoors with the family or a romantic interlude for couples

4. Travel during the off-season: in many cases, travel locations have a peak season (most expensive) and an off-season. If you have a flexible schedule, consider traveling during a non-peak season; this one budget travel tip can save you $100′s.

These are just a few tips to help you save money on your next vacation. Saving money while traveling is half the fun when planning my trips. I have found that budget travel affords me the same benefits as those who pay full price, and I do not sacrifice any enjoyment. Challenge yourself and see how much money you can save while traveling on your next vacation!

Many pet owners dislike leaving their pets home when they go on vacations. Many like to take their pets along, if possible. There are rules governing pet travel by air and pet travel to another country by any means. You must be aware of these and make prior arrangements.

You must always keep your pet on a leash when you move out of your place. Find out if there are any pet friendly hotels or inns in the place that you are going to visit, as hotels generally don’t permit pets. Look for the ones that provide kennel facilities. It is always better to carry a kennel, just in case the hotel does not provide one.

If you’re planning to take your pet by air, make the necessary arrangements in advance. Find out if the airline allows your pet to travel in a carrier that can be kept under the seat, otherwise it must travel by air freight. You can send small pets like birds, hamsters and tropical fish by air express. Make sure your pet is identified by a tag or microchip. A health certificate is a must for the pet to travel by air. Choose a travel case or kennel that is very comfortable for your pet, preferably a spacious one and familiarize your pet with it by placing the pet for a little while in it everyday.

You can also take your pet with you in your car. Before the date of the actual journey, take your pet for small trips in the car so that the pet gets used to it. Take along a jug of cold water, in case of any emergency. Don’t allow pets to ride with their heads outside, as particles of dust can enter its eyes, nose and ears causing infection. Pets are generally not allowed in trains or buses except for guide dogs accompanying blind persons.

If adequate measures are taken beforehand, travel will be a pleasant experience for both the owner and the pet.

Traveling to unfamiliar destinations can bring to you the sort of troubles you do not want to experience while on the road namely: robbery, rape, or murder. Tourists often fall prey to perpetrators because they do not prepare properly before embarking on a trip. Let’s examine some things you should do to prevent your travels from becoming a tragedy:

1. Never list your home address on the luggage tag. If on business, put the company’s address on the tag; if visiting friends you can list their address. Use covered luggage tags as well.

2. Stay with your luggage until the luggage is checked. If you must put your bag down, keep one foot on the handle.

3. Carry important papers with you; NEVER check anything that you simply cannot afford to lose. Photocopy your passport, driver’s license and credit cards.

4. Bring a small flashlight. You never know when you’ll suddenly be “in the dark” and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. At night, keep your flashlight by your bed.

5. Make sure that your prescription medicines are filled properly and labeled accurately. In some countries certain prescription medicines are forbidden.

6. Never wear anything that projects affluence. No gold chains, expensive watches and rings, luggage, or other paraphernalia should be in easy view. Better yet: leave your jewelry at home.

7. If possible travel with only one or two credit cards.

8. Women particularly should never accept a drink from a stranger. Keep an eye on your drink at all times.

9. Vary your schedule; try not to come and go at the same time everyday.

10. Only stay in a hotel that uses cards to open room doors and make sure your room has a peephole and a deadbolt lock. Secure the chain and secure the door by pushing a rubber stop under it.

11. Stay in a room near a stairwell. Never take the elevator if a fire or smoke is detected. Always stay in a hotel where the doors enter the hallway and not directly from the outside.

12. Do not wear name tags in public.

13. Do not use unmarked taxi cabs.

14. Sit behind the driver so you can see him, but he cannot see you.

15. Pay the driver upon arriving at your destination and while you are still sitting in the vehicle.

16. If you must rent a car, rent only from a reputable company. Any operating problems that occur could signal sabotage.

17. Be aware of ‘staged’ car accidents meant to catch you off card.

18. Back into your parking spaces to facilitate a quick exit.

19. Park only in well lit and well traveled areas.

20. If your cell phone does not work outside of the country, consider renting one that does for the duration of your trip.

21. If detained for whatever reason by an official, ask for identification. If in doubt, tell them that you want to see his superior. Keep your emotions in check.

22. If traveling with children, bring along an updated photograph of each child in the event that you become separated from them.

23. Write your child’s name and your hotel number on each card; include a close friend’s or relative’s contact information on the card. Give a card to each child which they will carry with them as long as you are away. Destroy once home.

24. Discuss with your family what they would do in event of an emergency while away from home, e.g. whom to call, how to contact emergency personnel, etc.

25. Do not discuss travel plans, your room number or any other personal information in public within earshot of strangers.

26. Bring along a basic first aid kit with bandages, iodine, mosquito repellant, sunscreen, alcohol packets, dramamine, pepto bismol, diarrhea medicine, etc.

27. Familiarize yourself with train and bus schedules before traveling. Have an alternate plan in place in the event your transportation plans change.

28. Do not flash your passport in public. Discreetly show important documents to officials only.

29. Consider purchasing portable alarms that emit a loud sound.

30. Watch for scams on the street. Children working with adults are notorious as pickpockets.
